Derris Gillam
Chief Executive and Managing Director

Derris was a senior executive with MBF Australia as General Manager Tasmania, General Manager New South Wales, Chief Executive of St John’s Private Hospital and the National Corporate Business Manager. He was Chief Executive of islandstate credit union.

Derris was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tasmanian Affordable Housing Limited in February 2007.

He has Business degree and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors diploma course. He is a Fellow of CPA Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Derris was a director of the Australian Private Hospitals Association, director of the Australian Institute of Credit Union Management and a member of the peak industry association for credit unions. He was National Chairman of CPA Australia’s Ethics Centre of Excellence.

He is currently a director and vice president of the Heart Foundation of Australia [Tasmania] and a member of the Board of Governance of GP Assist Tasmania.

Mary Mickan
General Manager

Mary joined Tasmanian Affordable Housing Limited in June 2007.  Prior to joining the company, Mary worked for 5 years in the affordable rental housing for seniors sector, as Corporate Manager and Company Secretary for ASX listed company, SCV Group Limited.    In this role she was responsible for the corporate and internal operations of the company and was instrumental in the development of all areas of that company.  She brings with her a wealth of knowledge that can readily be applied to TAHL.

Prior to these appointments Mary held senior management positions in recruitment, accounting and financial planning practices in Queensland.
