Since its establishment, Anglicare has grown into a statewide service responding to issues that confront many Tasmanians such as financial crisis, homelessness, unemployment, the social and economic consequences of alcohol and other drug use, as well as the challenges faced by people with physical and intellectual disabilities or mental health problems. Part of Anglicare’s mission is to speak out against poverty and injustice to help build a more just society. Anglicare practices this advocacy through its Social Action and Research Centre, working with low-income earners, identifying the issues that affect them and carrying these concerns to the Government. |
